DEVELOPMENT

Web Development Built for Performance, Not Just Launch Day

A website is easy to launch and hard to keep working. Most of the problems businesses run into a year later — the slow pages, the plugin that broke checkout, the developer nobody can reach — trace back to decisions made during the build.

We build websites and web applications that hold up: clean code, sensible architecture, and files you own outright. Fast on launch day, and still fast after two years of content and traffic.

What We Build
  • Business and corporate websites — custom-built, fast, and easy for your team to update
  • E-commerce stores — WooCommerce, Shopify or custom, built around your actual catalogue and checkout flow
  • CMS builds — WordPress and headless setups with editing interfaces non-technical staff can use
  • Web applications — dashboards, portals, booking systems and internal tools
  • API and system integrations — connecting your site to CRM, inventory, accounting or logistics
  • Migrations and rebuilds — moving off a platform you’ve outgrown without losing SEO or data
What’s Included
  • Responsive front-end build across desktop, tablet and mobile
  • Cross-browser testing on current browsers and real devices
  • Performance optimisation — image compression, caching, minification, lazy loading
  • SEO fundamentals — clean markup, correct heading structure, schema, sitemap, redirects
  • Security basics — SSL, hardened admin, form validation, spam protection
  • CMS setup with a short handover guide for your team
  • Analytics and search console configuration
  • Full source code and database — the build is yours
How We Work

We ask what it needs to do before choosing how to build it. A brochure site and a booking platform need different foundations. Picking the technology first, then forcing requirements into it, is how projects go over budget.

We keep the stack as simple as the job allows. Every plugin and dependency is future maintenance and a potential security hole. If a small amount of custom code replaces four plugins, we write the code.

We build for the person maintaining it next. Readable code, sensible structure, documented setup. That might be us in a year, or it might be someone else — either way, the handover should be uneventful.

Speed is treated as a requirement, not a bonus. We measure load times during the build rather than discovering the problem after launch.

You see progress as it happens. Work is delivered in visible stages on a staging site. No four-week silence followed by a surprise.

Our Process

1. Requirements. We map out functionality, integrations, user roles and content structure. This is where we surface the things that get expensive if discovered late.

2. Architecture. We choose the platform and structure, and explain why — including when a simpler option would serve you better than a custom build.

3. Build. Development in stages on a staging environment you can access at any time. You review as it goes.

4. Testing. Functionality, forms, payments, browsers, devices, load speed and security checks before anything goes live.

5. Launch and handover. Deployment, redirects, analytics, and a walkthrough of how to manage the site. Plus [X] days of post-launch support included.

Custom Build or Platform?

Both are legitimate. The right answer depends on where your ceilings are.

A platform or CMS makes sense when the site is mainly informational, you need to launch quickly, and no unusual logic is involved.

Custom development makes sense when you need integrations with internal systems, complex pricing or booking rules, large catalogues, user accounts and permissions, or performance a plugin-heavy setup can’t reach.

We’ll tell you which side of that line you’re on before you commit budget — including when the cheaper option is the right one.

Maintenance and Support

Websites need upkeep: core and plugin updates, security patches, backups, uptime monitoring and periodic performance checks. Skipping this is the most common reason a site that worked fine last year is broken today.

We offer ongoing maintenance plans, or we’ll hand over documentation so your own team can manage it. Either is fine — what isn’t fine is nobody doing it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a website build take?
A standard business site is typically [4–8 weeks] from requirements to launch. E-commerce and custom applications depend on scope — we give a firm estimate after the requirements stage.

Which technologies do you work with?
[List your actual stack here — e.g. WordPress, WooCommerce, Laravel, React, Node.js, Shopify.] We choose based on what the project needs, not on what we prefer.

Do I own the code?
Yes. Full source code, database and hosting access transfer to you on completion.

Can you work with a design I already have?
Yes. Send us the Figma or XD files and we’ll build to them. We’ll also flag anything in the design that will cause problems in the browser.

Can you fix or take over an existing site?
Usually. We start with an audit of the current code and hosting, then tell you honestly whether repairing or rebuilding is the better investment.

What happens if something breaks after launch?
Post-launch support is included for [X] days, and after that we offer maintenance plans or ad-hoc support.

Let's Talk About What You're Building

Tell us what the site or application needs to do. We'll come back with a clear scope, a realistic timeline and a firm price — and we'll say so if a simpler approach would get you there faster.
